Digital Life Norway Research School in collaboration with Norwegian Research School in Neuroscience, offers digital workshops on scientific writing, tailor-made for PhD candidates and postdocs in biotechnology and neuroscience. The workshops are led by Dr Daniel Soule, an experienced academic writing trainer, and is aiming to provide structure, advice, and motivation for writing a paper for publication.

The focus of this workshop is how to write critically and systematically, how to develop a literature review, a methodology and a set of research questions/hypotheses, and how to understand the purpose of a doctoral thesis. Developing your own academic style is also covered. This workshop approaches research writing as a process, one that poses particular challenges to doctoral researchers: managing an emerging and changing program of research; the volume of material and the size of the project; and obstacles which get in the way of writing effectively.
