Recording many image planes simultaneously is a great time saver for 3D imaging. A wonderful tool for such multifocus microscopy is a Multifocus Grating: The SOLIS team has produced a short video on how they work and how to make them (without a cleanroom).
The video is based on this paper from the SOLIS group – it contains all the implementation details, code, and protocols:
Reischke, Marie, Oliver Vanderpoorten, and Florian Ströhl. "Rapid prototyping of 1xN multifocus gratings via additive direct laser writing." Micro and Nano Engineering 19 (2023): 100186.
