DLN promotes recruitment, education and training of talented young researchers in line with the digital life mission to gain better transdisciplinary cooperation and more innovation.
The DLN Research School has an important role in creating an environment for excellent PhD training and support further career development at the post doc level. DLN also arranges workshops aimed at researchers beyond PhD/post doc level. These focus mainly on data and knowledge management to support open science and the development of methods for research and innovation in digital biotechnology.
In 2020 the centre has expanded the academic training with the Digital life industry internships initiative. Read more about the internships.
The Centre for Digital Life Norway has an ongoing collaboration with ELIXIR.no and with the FAIRDOM Hub to adapt solutions that can improve data management in the research projects in the centre. Now, this applies to the use of the Norwegian e-Infrastructure for Life Sciences (NeLS) and SEEK platforms. This work is done in close dialogue with several research projects in the centre. Such a link will ensure access to long-term storage of scientific data, simplify and practice good practices for documenting metadata, as well as share and publish data and models. We want solutions that support the practice of the FAIR (Findable Accessible Interoperable Reusable) principle for scientific results. We also arrange workshops and meetings for training in the use of data management tools.
