She serves on the board of directors of Stiftelsen Asker International School and the Cameroonian Professionals Network in the Nordics.
Jane is passionate about mentoring young people. She is obsessed with bringing African stories closer to homes and schools as a way of enhancing the experience of children of African descent, especially by connecting those living outside the continent to their African roots. This is why she founded Esam Books Publishing. She has authored two children’s books through her publishing company, with two more in the pipeline.
She worked as a post-doc at CEMIR, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) before embarking on a journey outside of academia. Jane earned a PhD in Molecular Medicine from NTNU. When she is not working as a scientific manager, she is writing, mentoring, chasing her 2 children around, traveling, or singing in a local choir.
