Scientific Writing Workshop

At a quaint location in sunny and summery Oslo, Digital Life Norway Research School and the Norwegian Research School in Neuroscience invited our members for a 3-day workshop in scientific writing.

Dr Daniel Soule, an experienced trainer within academic writing, led the workshop, helping the participants to

  • Plan and understand their writing process
  • Break down the structure of papers to generate writing goals
  • Find techniques to become an effective writer
  • Understand the demands of their target audience and journal editors

The workshop was structured as part plenary sessions, part writing sessions, and part one-to-one work with Daniel. The participants also have the possibility to receive further feedback from Daniel on their paper throughout this fall.

There was also ample time for networking and making new friends among fellow PhD students and postdocs during the delightful meals served at Hotel Gabelshus.

Did you miss out? Do not despair, Digital Life Norway Research School will arrange more writing courses for our members in the spring of 2018. Join the research school as a PhD member or postdoctor member, or sign up for our newsletter in order to receive regular information about our activities.
