About the reading club

The DLN reading club is a peer driven initiative for members of Digital Life Norway Research School, with the primary objective of introducing multidisciplinary topics of relevant societal issues to DLN research scientists of diverse backgrounds. The aim is to expand "thinking horizons" by connecting diverse perspectives, life experiences and discussions of curated texts and topics. The reading club will try to utilize the transdisciplinary capacity of the research school’s members. The reading material will consist of topics that cut across different disciplines where we can learn from each other’s backgrounds, but we will try to have an overarching focus on the relation between science and society.

The approach is simple: together we will find topics and texts that address important tendencies of the societies that surround us and try to discuss and reflect on how the content relates to our own work and life. Do not be afraid to sign up; the first rule of the reading club is that this should be fun and is a social event. The texts we will read will not be too long.
